Ahmad Al-Douri, Post-Doctoral Fellow

Ahmad Al-Douri is a post-doctoral research associate with the Systems Risk and Reliability Analysis (SyRRA) lab. He has earned his B.S. (2011), M.S. (2016), and Ph.D. (2021) in chemical engineering, as well as a M.S. (2014) in petroleum engineering, all from Texas A&M University. His doctoral research focus was on the integration reliability, availability, and maintainability factors into the conceptual design of chemical process systems through an economic framework.

He has worked on projects focused on addressing uncertainty and organizational factors using multiple types of data, oil and natural gas pipelines failures and shutdowns, as well as two industry funded projects on the hydrogen economy and renewables-based chemicals production. He has authored four first-author journal publications in recognized journals such as the Journal of Natural Gas Sciences and Engineering and the Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries. He was also involved as a teaching assistant in three courses: process dynamics and control; process integration, simulation and economics; and capstone chemical engineering plant design.
