Lauren Reising is a graduate student in the SyRRA Lab pursuing an M.S. in Reliability Engineering. She graduated from Washington State University (WSU) in 2024 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Lauren’s research focuses on the safety and reliability of hydrogen fuel systems and infrastructure, with an eye toward enabling their use in aviation. She has completed internships with the FAA and Alaska Airlines and gained hands-on experience with cryogenic hydrogen systems as an undergraduate research fellow at the WSU Hydrogen Properties for Energy Research (HYPER) Center. In the SyRRA Lab, Lauren conducts research on risk and reliability analyses to ensure the safety of hydrogen systems in new and emerging applications such as hydrogen fueling stations at airports. Her research is developing new sources of hydrogen component reliability data for the HyCReD database to support widespread deployment of hydrogen fueling stations
