Samantha (Sami) Wismer is a student in the SyRRA Lab pursuing her Ph.D. in Reliability Engineering. She graduated in 2022 from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to becoming a student at UMD, Sami conducted research in the field of engineering education and co- authored a textbook for Statics and Mechanics of Materials. Sami also worked as an intern for Westinghouse Electric Company.
Within the SyRRA Lab, Sami is working on a quantitative risk assessment to evaluate the safety and reliability of PEM electrolysis for hydrogen production at nuclear power plants.
